Wh<strong>at</strong> makes a hit song? We will analyze past and current hit songs<br />

in terms of <strong>the</strong> music, lyrics, and production techniques. We’ll look<br />

specifically <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> melody, harmony, instrument<strong>at</strong>ion, arrangement,<br />

song structure, chord structure, and production styles th<strong>at</strong> make<br />

<strong>the</strong>se songs so effectively c<strong>at</strong>chy. Although this is not a songwriting<br />

class per se, it will provide students with techniques and approaches<br />

Experience <strong>the</strong> joy and s<strong>at</strong>isfaction of cre<strong>at</strong>ing a wood project.<br />

Students learn to use hand and power tools efficiently and safely.<br />

The first project for beginning students enables <strong>the</strong> student to build<br />

a useful item of wood while learning how to select proper m<strong>at</strong>erials,<br />

use appropri<strong>at</strong>e equipment, cut, fit, assemble, and finish <strong>the</strong> project.<br />

The first class is a mand<strong>at</strong>ory safety class. Returning students<br />

welcome.<br />

control methods will be utilized to insure all products meet design<br />

specific<strong>at</strong>ions. All raw m<strong>at</strong>erials and supplies are furnished. All<br />

finished products are don<strong>at</strong>ed to <strong>the</strong> Unity Shoppe for distribution<br />
