Swaffham Lioness Club<br />
Club President Nicola Claxton was delighted to<br />
welcome our Multiple District Lioness Chairman<br />
Angela Howard to one of our meetings, when we<br />
badged up our newest member, Lioness Dawn Funnell.<br />
Recently we have been out and about raising money<br />
for various charities with our “Pick a Straw” tombola.<br />
We took it to the 1st Swaffham Scouts Fete in July, the<br />
Olympic Carnival Day on Campingland in August, and the<br />
Community Hospital League of Friends Fete in September.<br />
In Memory Of Carol<br />
The Swaffham Lions are holding a Coffee Morning<br />
and book sale on 12th November at the Assembly<br />
Rooms, 9.30 – 1pm. The Macmillan Unit at the QE<br />
would like eight special pumps to help their patients<br />
but at £3000 each they are going to need help.<br />
Swaffham Lions would like to donate a pump in<br />
memory of Carol Gilding, the local post lady who sadly<br />
died recently. Tickets will be available from Ceres Book<br />
shop, the Market Cross and our businesses around<br />
the town. Tickets can also be bought from any Lion<br />
or call Pam Tallon on 01760 721550 for more details.<br />
Adult Education<br />
It is never too late to improve your Maths, English<br />
or IT skills. Future courses will be based at Swaffham<br />
Community Centre on Campingland just a stonesthrow<br />
away from the town centre.<br />

Lioness member Judith Coker and her husband Lion<br />
David hosted a lovely Sunday Afternoon Tea Party for<br />
the Lionesses at their home , where we all took some<br />
food, and held a Bring & Buy stall for our Club funds.<br />
Many thanks to Judith and David for their hospitality.<br />
Swaffham Trade Association<br />
Fundraising evening.<br />
To all those who were unable to make it, you<br />
missed a great evening of fun and enjoyment.<br />
What you missed was the Swaffham Trade<br />
Association’s first event in support of the town’s<br />
Christmas Lights event.<br />
It was an exceptional evening of fun, entertainment<br />
and great food – all for a good cause. One hundred<br />
guests enjoyed a memorable evening with the STA<br />
Chairman Colin Mason giving a brief overview of the<br />
STA’s plans for Christmas and beyond. The Parisian<br />
Swing Band kicked off the evening with some really<br />
foot tapping music, members and volunteers pulled<br />
out all stops with a terrific buffet fit for a banquet.<br />

Get Digital Champion<br />
Do you have specific IT-related questions that you<br />
would love to know the answer to or would like to<br />
develop your confidence to go online or use email?<br />
At Swaffham library our friendly volunteer Get Digital<br />
champion can spend time with individuals to help them<br />
develop their IT skills using the public library computers<br />
and assist with queries regarding tablet devices.<br />
Help is available from our Get Digital champion<br />
on most Thursday and Friday afternoons. To find<br />
