Jones is an up-and-coming athlete from the esteemed British Athletics wheelchair racing
program who was invited to pick up her sport by 16-time Paralympic medalist Tanni Grey-
Thompson. Within a few weeks of their meeting, Jones was training under Grey-Thompson
and began entering competitive meets in 2009.
She competed in three events on the track at the Rio 2016 Paralympics: the 800-, 1500-,
and 5000-meter T54 races.
At the London 2012 Paralympics, Jones raced in a wheelchair that was formerly used by
Grey-Thompson. She competed in three distances on the track at her home Paralympics,
finishing as high as 10th place in the 1500m T54 event.
She starred at the 2014 IPC Athletics World Championships in Swansea, Wales, winning her
first international medals, before an injury prevented her from competing at the 2015 IPC
Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Jones has a focal femur deficiency, meaning she was born without the top half of her right
leg. Her foot was amputated in 2006. She began competing in wheelchair racing in 2008.
