Buss's rugby team still
pushing forward in the US

'IT has been another challenging
season for our little rugby
club, the Mooseman Club
from Northern Michigan university
with the loss of 6 experienced
players from last
season.'
Those are the words of
former Kingite Jordan Buss
who emigrated to the USA at
the end of 2011 after coaching
at Dale Junior, Stutterheim
High and Gonubie Primary.
Jordan picked up on the
Mooseman club on a website
and offered to help with
coaching rugby.
And he has never looked
back with the Mooseman
Club ranking 13th in the USA
last year.
He says that this year the
team has stood up to the challenge
again beating some of
the top teams in the US.
'We have been very fortunate
with the new talent that has
joined our team, real athletes
which makes my life a little
easier when it comes to
coaching.
'Most of our new players have
never picked up a rugby ball
in their lives, and have had to
learn quickly how the game
flows as well as playing to
our style of rugby,' says Jordan.
He adds that the team has
really stood strong this season
'as we have made the
national championships
again this year, last year we
finished the season ranked
13th in the country and this
year we are currently ranked
8th and hoping to still climb
the rankings'.
The team is playing good
rugby but tend to let the
game plan go out the window
when under pressure.
'I feel that they have so much
talent that they have not yet
brought to the table, and am
hoping they will break loose
now in the championships
where I need them most,'
says Jordan.
The Moosemen rugby club
has been around since 1979,
and this is the first time they
have remained consistent
with their results, opening
the eyes of the public.
