<strong>Spice</strong>Jet wins prestigious travel award<br />
The North India Travel Awards recognised leaders who have made a mark in<br />
the travel sector during a gala event at Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon. This initiative<br />
honoured the achievers of the travel industry at a regional level in the presence of<br />
the who’s who of the tourism industry. The ceremony was attended by Om Prakash<br />
Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, who was the<br />
chief guest for the evening.<br />
Awards were given out in seven primary and 54 secondary categories. Mr.<br />
Ajay Singh, CMD, <strong>Spice</strong>Jet, received the DDP Game Changer award, an important<br />
honour in the first category. <strong>Spice</strong>Jet also received the Best Domestic Airline<br />
award. India Travel Awards is an all-India platform to regionally recognise the<br />
stalwarts and those behind the success of the travel industry. It is the country’s first<br />
internet voting-based awards, hence, fair and unbiased.<br />

schedule<br />

announced its allnew<br />
additional<br />
flights for the winter schedule effective from November 15,<br />
<strong>2016</strong>. The airline inducted three Boeing 737-800s to operate<br />
the eight new flights viz., Ahmedabad-Bengaluru-Ahmedabad,<br />
Ahmedabad-Goa-Ahmedabad, Bengaluru-Guwahati-Bengaluru<br />
and Guwahati-Chennai-Guwahati; and eight new connections viz.,<br />
Ahmedabad-Chennai-Ahmedabad, Hyderabad-Delhi-Hyderabad,<br />
Delhi-Bengaluru-Delhi and Delhi-Guwahati-Delhi. With this,<br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet will operate 334 flights a day. Shilpa Bhatia, Sr. VP,<br />
Commercial, <strong>Spice</strong>Jet, said, “With the introduction of additional<br />
direct flights, the schedule will offer seamless connectivity to<br />
business and leisure travellers alike.”<br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet tops industry OTP and PLF for<br />
September <strong>2016</strong><br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet outpaced all its peers as industry figures<br />
released by DGCA for the month of September <strong>2016</strong><br />
pegged the airline at the top for critical operational<br />
parameters of OTP (On-Time Performance) and PLF<br />
(Passenger Load Factor). The airline has registered a PLF<br />
of 93.5%, clocking over 90% PLF for 17 months in a row.<br />
Among airlines with sizeable industry operations across<br />
all metros, <strong>Spice</strong>Jet has also topped the OTP chart for<br />
the month at 88.8%. The airline has also topped OTP for<br />
individual metros of Mumbai and Hyderabad at 79.1% and<br />
90.1% respectively. Diligent planning, efficient utilisation<br />
of the resources and a strong determination across all<br />
the crew and support departments led the airline to<br />
significantly improve its performance in September.<br />
