ACCESS TO SANITATION IN SOUTH AFRICA
The majority of South Africans have access to dignified sanitation, however critical gaps
remain. Many areas lack adequate water for flush toilets to be supplied to the remaining
unserviced settlements. Well-managed pit latrines and ecological sanitation will be
important in bringing sanitation to all.
