Water footprint: the amount of water that went into making a product or service,<br />
including water from the soil (known as brown water), water from rivers and<br />
aquifers (blue water) and water impacted by waste products (grey water). It is also<br />
known as virtual water or embedded water.<br />
Putting a price on water<br />
While we have a legal right to access water for basic human needs, businesses and<br />
individuals pay for water when it exceeds the basic allocation.<br />
