2015 Junior Novice<br />

Riders from across the country are<br />

heading to the SEIB Trailblazers<br />

Championship held at Stoneleigh<br />

Park in Warwickshire at the end of <strong>July</strong>.<br />

Held over seven days, the championship<br />

finals are the highlight of the year for<br />

many competitors as it provides a unique<br />

opportunity for grassroots riders to<br />

experience a major championship.<br />

The senior and junior Dodson & Horrell<br />

Dressage Championships will be on 29<br />

– 31 <strong>July</strong>, the Equestrivan Showing and<br />

Working Hunter Championships on 30 –<br />

31 <strong>July</strong>, the senior and junior Countrywide<br />

Show Jumping Championships on 3 – 6<br />

August and Solution Saddles Combined<br />

Training Championships on 4 – 5 August.<br />

The SEIB Trailblazers Championships is<br />

an equestrian extravaganza with on-site<br />

camping, stabling, flags and flowers. With<br />

the superb facilities at Stoneleigh Park,<br />

Warwickshire, finalists will enjoy that<br />

unbeatable big championship atmosphere,<br />

the thrill of riding in the grand arenas and<br />

the prospect of completing a lap of honour<br />

in magnificent style.<br />

As well as the all-important championship<br />

classes, the event also offers optional<br />

dressage and show jumping warm up days,<br />

giving competitors at the Championships<br />

Held at Stoneleigh Park<br />

more classes and the opportunity to get<br />

used to the atmosphere.<br />

Last year’s Championships saw the<br />

introduction of the Master Class in<br />

the Park; this year it is supported by<br />

Equestrivan with two talented top<br />

international riders who are set to<br />

wow the crowds with their informative<br />

demonstrations. On Friday 29 <strong>July</strong> at 7pm,<br />

one of the leading event and dressage<br />

riders in the country Ruth Edge will be<br />

hosting a dressage master class. Ruth<br />

holds six national dressage titles, which<br />

she has achieved alongside her eventing<br />

successes. Winner of the Hickstead Derby<br />

and top international rider Trevor Breen<br />

will be sharing his techniques in his show<br />

jumping master class, at 7pm on Thursday<br />

4 August. The Master Class in the Park will<br />

be free to watch for those onsite, so come<br />

along, sit back and enjoy the opportunity<br />

of watching Ruth and Trevor share their<br />

knowledge with you.<br />

Admission and parking is free for<br />

supporters and spectators at the SEIB<br />

Trailblazers Championships and spectators<br />

are encouraged to come and support the<br />

riders.<br />

Many of the riders competing will have<br />

overcome challenges either themselves<br />

or with their horse or pony, and getting to<br />

the championships is a huge achievement.<br />

Riders are encouraged to enjoy the<br />

experience and do their best.<br />

THE ODDS WERE<br />

AGAINST COCO<br />

Katy Gillibrand, 32, from Staffordshire,<br />

has qualified for Dodson & Horrell Senior<br />

Preliminary Dressage Championship finals<br />

with her 10-year-old gelding, Coco and<br />

will be competing at the championships<br />

for the first time.<br />

“Coco didn’t have a great start to life,<br />

he was bred to race but never made it to<br />
