featuring songs from the Great
White Way and the Great
American Songbook. Join Tom
and his cast as they sing their way
thru some of the greatest tunes
from Broadway and beyond.
Act I is a traditional potpourri
of songs and novelty numbers.
Act II is the Dressing Room,
where Tom invites the audience
backstage for a birdseye view
of how the stage actor prepares
for a role. All beards, wigs and
costumes are put on in front of
the audience where they get to see
the whole transformation process
happen before their eyes. Tom
and Co. will then do a couple of
songs from each show. Tickets
are $20 at the door. Belleville
Congregational Church, 300
High Street, Newburyport
CAT IN THE CRADLE
The Cat in the Cradle
Coffeehouse welcomes Quentin
Callawaert back on November
12. If you close your eyes and
listen, the image in your mind is
not of a young happy teenager,
but rather one of a very skilled
(and happy!) musician. Open
your eyes and enjoy the warmth
and talent of a gifted guitar
player who combines classical,
traditional, contemporary and
popular music with original
tunes. He has shared the stage
with many other great guitarists
and in the few short years that we
have known him he has moved
on from being an entertaining,
gangly teen to a composed,
professional musician. This is
an exciting journey for Quentin
and for those of us fortunate
enough to hear this great young
talent. Sharing the bill is Toeldo,
another group of put -together
young musicians. Daniel Alvarez
and Jordan Dunn-Pilz have been
writing music together since
2009. Now, accompanied by
Harry Burr and Pedro Calloni,
the duo spearheads Toeldo,
an independent indie folk
group based out of the Boston
music scene. Blending their
singer/songwriter roots with a
contemporary folk sound, this
young group presents a mature
understanding of the genre.
Intricate finger picking, pulsating
drums, and swelling horns fill
your soul with sound. The Cat in
the Cradle Coffeehouse is hosted
by the Byfield Community Arts
Center, 7 Central Street, Byfield,
MA. Doors open at 7:30 and
admission is $15 at the door.
The Cat Cafe serves beer, wine,
soft drinks, coffee, and snacks
throughout the evening. Check
our website for more information:
