and Barbuda’s Permanent
Ambassador to the United
Nations.
A group of experts in
treatment of the disease travelled
from both New York
and Texas to assist Antigua
and Barbuda in increasing
public awareness and learning
best practices for treatment
including new breakthroughs.
The Honourable Molwyn
Joseph in his feature address
pointed out that there has
been discrimination against
those with the disease in the
Dr. Aubrey Webson, Antigua and Barbuda’s Permanent Ambassador
to the United Nations
Minister of Health, the Hon., Molwyn Joseph
past due to lack of awareness.
He stressed that no one
should be treated any differently
because of any disease.
Epilepsy Minister Joseph recalled
has affected his family
personally and lack of
knowledge and the unavailability
of proper treatment in
Antigua was a major issue
back in the 1960’s when his
sister was diagnosed with
the debilitating disease.
Dr. Webson thanked the
group of medical experts
who made the trip to Antigua
to assist in the awareness
efforts.
