VP records, the largest distributor of Reggae, Dancehall and Soca music world-wide has signed on the local soca diva. According to information of the Facebook page, Fete tracker, Tizzy signed on for the digital distribution of her music which will run for the next three years. Tizzy is reportedly elated at the new opportunity to market her music to the world. She now embarks on a journey to thrill the region with appearances scheduled at Trinidad Carnival 2017. Antigua & Barbuda National Youth Council hosts emblem/logo competition be a safe and healthy nation for youth involvement and development, where young people are empowered, have equal access to opportunities and are able to maintain and lead the national development agenda. In order to ‘promote youth talents; creativity and innovations’, the National Youth Council has organized a competition to design its emblem/ logo that will reflect both its mission and the vision. The logo will be used to represent the identity of the youth council. It will be utilized on all promotional materials, and on all official documents and publications made by the National Youth Council. The National youth council of Antigua and Barbuda is calling out all the youths from ages of 13- 21 to be a part of creating a historical emblem/logo for the council. Not only will there be a Grand prize for the winner but that person would have the prestigious honor to know that they would have created the first ever logo used for Antigua & Barbuda nation youth council. The logo/emblem challenge will begin on 7th November - 30 November 2016, forms and registration should be collected at the various schools and at the Department of Youth Affairs.

The annual Independence Gala will be held Saturday November 19th at the renowned Glen Island Harbour Club of New Rochelle. The New York Office is pleased to announce that it will honor two outstanding citizens Dr. Natasha Lightfoot and Executive Chef Melvin Myers. Dr. Lightfoot is Assistant Professor of History at Columbia University and author of the ground breaking text Troubling Freedom: Antigua and the Aftermath of British Emancipation. Executive Chef Myers heads up his own company Success Catering and is a skilled culinary instructor and master fruit sculptor. “Dr. Lightfoot and Chef Myers are sterling examples of professionalism and have enriched our diaspora by advancing knowledge and sharing our cultural heritage. “I am delighted that we can recognize them, their work and their contribution as nationals living abroad at what I know will be an elegant affair,” said Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Walton Aubrey Webson. The Independence Gala is the premier black tie event of the season. This year’s staging will be a masquerade ball which promises to be a night of nostalgia, philanthropy and fun!
