Tour of Homes
set for Nov. 18-19

The holidays are a time to
celebrate friends and family.
A group of people in
Sioux Center are celebrating
being alive and are doing what
they can to help others.
The Sioux Center Tour of
Homes will once again be held
this year on Nov. 18-19 as a
fundraiser for the American
Cancer Society. The tour will
take place on Friday, Nov. 18,
in the evening from 4-8:30
p.m. Saturday’s event will run
from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
This will be the 14th Tour
of Homes and the organizers
can’t wait for this year’s event.
“We were doing it every year
but we decided to do it every
other year for now. We didn’t
do it last year. But I have to say,
if we could get five houses for
next year then we would probably
hold it again,” said Loreen
Marra, one of the event’s
organizers. “The tour goes to
benefit our Relay For Life team,
which raises money for the
American Cancer Society.”
This year’s event will feature
six homes and then a stop at
Petals & Perks for their Teas
and Trees open house.
The homes being featured on
this year’s tour include:
■ Junior and Kim Hoogland,
4419 Waters Edge Drive;
■ Jesse and Melissa Punt,
1077 16th Street SE;
■ Erik and Barb Hoekstra,
President’s Home, 411 5th
Street NE;
■ Erik and Barb Hoekstra,
Guest House, 415 5th Street NE;
■ Glen and Diane Broek,
1109 Eastside Drive;
■ Mark and Mary Borger,
1104 6th Street NE.

Jesse and Melissa Punt.
“We decided to be a part of
the Tour of Homes this year
because of the fundraiser that
it supports. I’m a cancer survivor
and I’m just trying to pay it
forward,” Melissa said. “It feels
good to be a part of this effort.
