Two years ago we collected this much for Filton Food bank, can we beat it this year?<br />
We will be collecting between 9 November - 7 December<br />
We are hoping to collect lots of different food<br />
items to help some of the vulnerable families in<br />
our local area over the Christmas period.<br />
Students will have a box in their tutor room to<br />
collect any items they wish to donate.<br />
Why are we collecting?<br />
•2808 people were given 3 days worth of<br />
emergency food between 2013-2014 at the<br />
North Bristol Food bank<br />
•Benefits cuts and delays, the rising cost of<br />
living and pay freezes are some of the reasons<br />
that more and more people are using food<br />
banks<br />
•Half a million people are reliant on food banks<br />
to help them feed themselves and their<br />
families<br />
•1 in 5 families in Britain regularly miss meals<br />
so their children can eat<br />
