This is in order to improve the atmosphere around the school, which will have a positive impact on the learning of all students. The focus for 31 October - 11 November has been to: Hold a door open for someone Try to do at least one other act of kindness and courtesy each day For the next fortnight (Monday 14 - Friday 25 November) the focus is to: “Keep banned items out of sight - hand them over straight away when challenged”. From shocking science shows, to moving musical performances in the atrium, teachers and students of all talents came together to showcase all the amazing work we do here at Abbeywood. It was certainly a very eventful and thrilling evening! Particular highlights from the evening included: The Harry Potter themed Chemistry experiments, and mind blowing shows, which had no shortage of spectators. The never ending story that both children and adults alike wrote in English, written on sugar paper almost as big as the department itself! The laser cutter demonstration in Design Technology left visitors fascinated, and as an added bonus they each received their very own personalised key ring. The Art and Photography students helped children draw pictures of fruit, and take rather funny portraits of themselves in the art department. Overall it was a tremendous evening, with a focussed and electric atmosphere that left staff, pupils and parents feeling incredibly proud. By the Student Ambassador Journalist Team 5
