Dr. Khaled Biyari, STC Group CEO
named Teletimes’ CEO of the Year during GITEX
Dr. Khaled Biyari, Group CEO of STC has
been awarded the title of Teletimes’ CEO
of the Year 2016 by Teletimes International
on the inaugural day of GITEX Technology
Week in Dubai.
The award was presented to Dr. Khaled
by Mr. Bocar Ba, CEO of SAMENA Council
along with Mr. Khalid Athar, Chief Editor,
Teletimes International during a ceremony
at GITEX Technology Week.
Dr. Khaled H. Al Biyari joined STC in May
2013 as Senior Vice President of Technology
and Operations, and then served as COO
as well. Currently, Dr. Biyari also serves as
the Vice Chairman of VIVA Kuwait amongst
other positions he holds in addition to his
role at STC. He is a member of a number
of professional organizations and has
lectured and published numerous papers on
communication and information systems.
Dr. Biyari has also lectured on technology
management and innovation as well as
issues related to the ICT industry. Dr. Biyari
holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from
the University of Southern California and
Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical
Engineering from KFUPM.
Since his appointment as CEO in early
2015, Dr. Biyari has led STC into a new era
of success. His initiatives have included a
key focus on expansion, introduction and
incubation of new technologies as well as
CSR amongst other things. He has led the
company towards increasing its customer
base, introducing new solutions for these
customers and achieving greater overall
customer satisfaction. His vigilant and dynamic
leadership has also helped create an
environment and culture that grooms talent
and innovation to create value.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bocar Ba
said, “I am honored to present the Teletimes’
CEO of the Year award to Dr. Khaled
Biyari. The award comes as a recognition
of his great services to the company and
the telecom industry at large. His dynamic
leadership has led STC to huge success and
we wish that he will continue his great work
in the coming future”.
While receiving the award, Dr. Biyari said,
“I am grateful to the Teletimes team for
this honor. I want to share that this journey
has always been a team effort and the
successful results are the outcome of a
great performance by the great team at
STC. The entire team deserves credit for the
outstanding performance and I am glad to
receive this award on behalf of them.”
