• Blind and can provide the
appropriate evidence? You
are eligible to apply for a
50% blind concession on
your TV Licence. If you are
partially sighted (sight
impaired) you are
unfortunately not eligible. To
apply, go to
tvlicensing.co.uk/blind or
post a photocopy of your
document of blind
registration or a certificate
from your ophthalmologist
with your licence number,
phone number and cheque
payment to TV Licensing,
Blind Concession Group,
Darlington DL98 1TL.
What if I don’t need a
licence?
If you don’t need a TV Licence,
you still need to let TV
Licensing know otherwise you
may still receive letters asking
for you to purchase a licence.
Jargon buster
Catch up TV
A service that allows you to
watch or download TV
programmes through the
internet after they have been
shown on live TV.
On Demand
The term used to describe
choosing what you watch and
when through the internet.
This includes Catch up TV,
programmes available online
before being shown on TV and
programmes which are only
available online. Netflix and
Amazon Prime are examples
of ‘On Demand TV’.
Streaming
The term used to describe
watching TV, videos,
programmes or films over the
internet without storing the
video on your device to watch
later.
