was no need to struggle for miles with bags.
Walking with bags is one of my pet hates!
As the cold hit me, upon entering the period
house’s large doors, I burst through, flustered,
feeling like an ever so less glamorous
Elizabeth Bennett. To my rescue General
Manager Neil warmly greeted me with a large
smile and put me right at ease.
“It was said that Charles Dickens
was a regular visitor to Satis House
when it was a private residence,
and the curious name actually pops
up in his book Great Expectations.”
So how did it measure up?
Our room for the evening was situated in one
of the hotels more recent editions outside of
the main house.
The eco pods are perfect for those who love
travel with their dogs. On this occasion we left
our Norfolk Terrier Archie with his grandma,
but one of these rooms would be an asset to
those travelling with their furry companions.
As we prepared for dinner, we
were keen to get back into the main
building to sample the menus we’d heard so
much about, from many of our friends and
family.
It promises that ‘whoever stays in the house
could wish for nothing more’. Quite a boast.
The one thing I can’t fault at Satis House, is
their customer service. Throughout our stay
