<strong>Surrey</strong> Seniors cont<strong>in</strong>ue with<br />
w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g form for the county<br />
Our <strong>Surrey</strong> veterans are a sh<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g example of how tennis can be<br />
a sport for life.<br />
First the stats!<br />
There are 13 Senior <strong>in</strong>ter-county<br />
competitions (age groups 40 and<br />
over) with f<strong>in</strong>als at David Lloyd<br />
Dudley <strong>in</strong> November every year<br />
between the Division 1A w<strong>in</strong>ners<br />
and Division 1B w<strong>in</strong>ners. All 13<br />
<strong>Surrey</strong> teams were <strong>in</strong> Division<br />
1A or 1B this year and 8 reached<br />
their f<strong>in</strong>al, 7 w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g their<br />
championship. Of the other teams 1<br />
came 2nd, 2 came third and 2 came<br />
5th <strong>in</strong> their divisions. Throughout<br />
the season, a total of 74 matches<br />
and 348 rubbers were played with<br />
<strong>Surrey</strong> w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g over 78% of the<br />
matches (58) and nearly 72% of the<br />
rubbers (250)!<br />
