A distinguished aroma...

on Saturday 21 January at Knole in Sevenoaks, you can. Be
inspired by the beautiful scent of Knole’s potpourri, and create
your very own perfume. Stephen Nelson will be giving expert
tuition on this day-long workshop, and will teach visitors
about the ingredients and process to make a unique aroma
to take home and enjoy. The day begins at 11am and ends

Seaside stroll...
For the perfect New Year’s Day walk, meet at
Rye Harbour village car park at 10am, and take
a wander around the nature reserve. As well as
being a great opportunity to get some post-festive
exercise, it’s the ideal chance to do some bird
watching, make the most of the fresh air and visit
the salt marsh and beach. This is a free event, but

take a trip to Brighton and experience the Royal
Pavilion Ice Rink, which will be running up until
Sunday 15 January. The rink is a huge 880 square
metres, and offers an additional area for beginners.

Britain’s contemporary thrill circus is on tour
once again. For the first time, Cirque Berserk will
be visiting Bromley after six sold-out seasons in
London’s Hyde Park. This danger-filled spectacle

of 30 jugglers, acrobats, aerialists, dancers,
musicians, and death-defying stunt men, not

For a bright start to the new year, visit Sissinghurst
Castle from Monday 16 Jan to Tuesday 28
February to experience the stunning display
of garden photography, as part of the Garden
Photographer of the Year competition. The
exhibition space in the oast house will be brought
to life by Sissinghurst gardeners, using plants
and flowers from the grounds. Booking isn’t

The Kent County Showground in Detling will
yet again be filled to the brim with treasures from
the UK and across the globe. The International
Antiques and Collectors Fair will host up to 300
exhibitors selling vintage home and garden wares,

plenty of unusual and interesting antique finds.
