Pleasant Ridge students
celebrate Grandparents Day
“THE
8TH WONDER
OF THE WORLD. ...”
Each year students in the
Tree Program at Pleasant
Ridge invite their grandparents
or another special
adult to visit their school.
With Thanksgiving being
time for family, this gives
students the opportunity to
share their learning with
their grandparents.
The students and grandparents
enjoyed refreshments,
toured the school
and spent some time on
activities together. To
close out the morning,
grandparents were invited
to speak in front of the
78 students and visitors.
They shared stories from
their past, imparted some
of their wisdom and expressed
their love for their
grandchildren.
According to Elly Koopersmith,
a Tree parent: “I
think the most special part
of Grandparents Day is
when our guests stand up
and tell short stories: a story
about their own childhood,
a story about their
own experiences in school,
a story about the foreign
country from which they
came, or a story about
their grandchild, the TREE
student. The love for their
grandchild is evident in
each word.”
“
I’ve reviewed about 4,000 SHOWS. None can
compare to what I saw tonight.”
—Richard Connema, renowned Broadway critic
“Absolutely THE NO.1 SHOW in the world!”
— Kenn Wells, former lead dancer of the English National Ballet
“The HIGHEST AND BEST of what humans can produce.”
—Oleva Brown-Klahn, singer and musician
“Poetry in motion... PRICELESS.”
“It is food for my heart and soul....”
— Siegfried & Roy, magicians and entertainers
“I just wish there is a way that I could cry out to mankinds,
they owe it to themselves to experience Shen Yun.”
