MINECRAFT CLUB
Wednesday, February 4 - 4:00pm
Are you crazy about Minecraft and just can’t stop building? The
Parkland Library’s Minecraft Club is right for you. Kids will get the
chance to build, explore, share, and learn the basics of Minecraft.
Participants must bring their own device with Minecraft already
downloaded. Parkland Library card required to register.

Read the book and join us for a discussion
and refreshments. The story
follows Hetty “Handful” Grimke, a
Charleston slave, and Sarah, the daughter
of the wealthy Grimke family. The
novel begins on Sarah’s eleventh birthday,
when she is given ownership over
Handful, who is to be her handmaid.
The Invention of Wings follows the next 35 years of their lives.
Inspired in part by the historical figure of Sarah Grimke (a feminist,
suffragist and, more importantly, an abolitionist), Kidd allows
herself to go beyond the record to flesh out the inner lives of all the
characters, both real and imagined.

library for a Valentine-themed story and chocolaty craft to make
