CHESS CLUB

Parkland Library Chess Club is for children, ages 8 and up.
Beginners can learn to play, and players meet your match! You
must be a Parkland Library card holder to join. Children must
be 8 years or older. Registration is required for each game date.
Parkland Library card required to register.

FLOWER ARRANGEMENT WORKSHOP
Wednesday, February 11 - 6:00pm
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, come make your
own personal flower arrangement for that special someone.
Participants will learn the meaning of different colored roses and
how to properly arrange them for Valentine’s Day.
TEEN ADVISORY GROUP (TAG)
Thursday, February 12 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Join TAG, the City of Parkland’s Teen Advisory Group to get
involved and have an impact in your city. While in TAG, teens have
the opportunity to not only obtain leadership skills but gain service
hours through volunteering for Parks and Recreation special
events, camp programs, and library programs. The Teen Advisory
Group is open to all Parkland teens aged 14-18. If you have questions
or would like to be involved in TAG, please contact Miles

Children ages 7 and up, bring your imagination and Lego building
skills to the library! At each Bricks and Books meeting, we will have
a new building challenge. Conquer each challenge with a buddy or
work on your own. Parkland Library card required to register.

COLLAGE ART CLASS
Monday, February 23 - 10:30am
Learn about Amalia Amaki whose art explores African American
life and culture through the use of photography frequently inlaid
in boxes, quilts, and fans. She embellishes these pieces with found
objects, like buttons, beads, flowers, and bits of fabric. Create your
own unique button collage heart box.

History month, the City
of Parkland Library will be
exploring the life of African
American musician James
Brown, better known as the
‘Godfather of Soul.’ You
don’t want to miss this critically
acclaimed film starring
Chadwick Boseman playing
the role of James Brown
alongside Dan Aykroyd and
Viola Davis. Snacks and
refreshments will be provided
during the movie.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Come to the Parkland Library for another installment of the Teen
Movie Club for the presentation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
When a kingpin threatens New York City, a group of mutated
turtle warriors must emerge from the shadows to protect their
