National Trust has local benefits
Are you a member or registered
volunteer of the National Trust? Then
you can make your membership even
more rewarding! Just join the local
Milton Keynes association and enjoy a
programme of visits, lectures, holidays
and social events especially arranged
by like-minded volunteers.
Once a month, members and
friends are treated to illustrated talks
with subjects including art, gardens,
buildings, personalities, collections and
curios. You can also take part in the social
meetings and celebrations – this July a
special lunch will celebrate the end of
the group’s 30th year. Subscription is
very reasonable and an entry fee of £1
(inclusive of refreshments) is charged at
meetings, with guests welcome for £2.
Meetings take place at the Cruck Barn,
Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes with free,
accessible parking.
During the 2015/16 season outings
to the Surrey Hills, St. Paul’s Cathedral,
Anglesey Abbey, The Essex Highlands
and Avebury took place and visits
to places not generally open to the
public may also be arranged. During
2016, holidays to Suffolk and to the
north-west to see the Blackpool
Illuminations are available. Since
forming in 1985, the group has raised
over £40,000 to help National Trust
properties local to Milton Keynes.
