doughnut. We shall be meeting every
Thursday thereafter.
As if this were not enough on Friday 3rd
March we are all invited to pay a return
visit to St Mary’s School, only this time the
children will be demonstrating just what
wonderful goodies can be produced by
using 100% Traidcraft ingredients in their
very special Traidcraft Big Brew. Doors are
open from 10.30am to 11.45am. Not only
will all coffee and tea served be Traidcraft
but we can guarantee that all cakes and
cookies will also be produced using only
Traidcraft products.
Whilst sipping the excellent coffee and
munching on delicious cakes, one or
two of the children will be showing us
just how important the support given to
Traidcraft producers and suppliers is, and
what a difference it makes to communities,
enabling the people at the grass roots to
earn a living wage, live an improved way
of life, and even to be able to afford to
send their children to school.

Update from Bertie
Over the new year, we had some friends
come around to the vicarage. It was here
that I experienced my first disco. The
vicar had bought these light bulbs that
you screw in and when the light-switch is
turned on, they spin and fill the room with
different twirling colours.
Now before you jump to conclusions,
dogs aren’t actually colourblind, that’s a
common misconception! I might not see
exactly the same colours as you, but I
was able to enjoy the yellows, blues and
violets and chase them around the room
whilst barking excitedly. Of course that
was misinterpreted as over-excitement and
I was banished to the kitchen for simply
expressing my enjoyment of the wonderful
lights. Ho-hum.
Before we enjoyed the disco, the vicar
and his friend were celebrating some of
the ‘lights’ that had gone out in 2016
by singing some of their songs. We were
treated to classics written by David Bowie,
Prince and George Michael, which was
entertaining.
We’ve enjoyed lots of other lights in the
vicarage recently: flashing lights in the
windows (I couldn’t help but chew a few
