The history group has an open meeting at<br />
Hackthorn Village Hall on Thursday 16th<br />
February at 7pm. Sue Allan will give a talk<br />
on ‘Pilgrim Fathers – why the escape?’.<br />
Miss Allan is a well-known historical<br />
novelist and Mayflower Pilgrim Fathers<br />
historian whose great passion in life is<br />
Gainsborough Old Hall in Lincolnshire<br />
and its fascinating connection to the Pilgrim<br />
Fathers story. Her novels include ‘The<br />
Mayflower Maid’, ‘Jamestown Woman’,<br />
and ‘Restoration Lady’. She is currently<br />
working on her fifth novel.<br />
There will be a £2 entrance charge and<br />
some tea, biscuits and a warm welcome.<br />
