As well as improving design details, internal features and overall aesthetics, the
interaction between the user and the product has been revised and simplified.
Through user testing a range of issues relating to the interaction between the
product, components and the user were identified.
These issues were addressed by minimising interaction steps, and replacing the
button activation interface with a kinetic, push down interface solution. By replacing
the action of locking the components together, placing the bottle on the base, and
holding the bottle while pressing the button, the user interaction is streamlined and
opportunities for user error are reduced. The Blitz2Go Lift is designed to make use
of the products semiotics and form factor to develop natural affordances, prompting
the user to engage with the physical interface and improving the products overall
usability and function.
Natural affordances and designed features contribute to the products overall
usability and user interaction interface. Details on the bottle, blade housing and base
work to align the bottle in a correct orientation, to ensure locking and safe use. The
overall form factor of the product base ensures stability when pushing downwards
on the bottle, further indicating the interaction to the user.
