NEWS FROM CASTLE HEDINGHAM PARISH COUNCIL
JANUARY 2016
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Councillors wish all parishioners a happy and healthy 2017. Parish
Council meetings take place at the Castle Hedingham Club, usually on
the 4th Monday of the month, starting at 7.45pm. A public forum is
available at every meeting, when residents can speak for up to 3
minutes on any issue of concern or interest to them. Advance notice of
anyone wishing to speak is helpful but not essential – just turn up! Our
annual parish meeting in 2017 will be held at the Memorial Hall on
Tuesday 9th May, starting at 8pm. This is when we review the work
done by the Parish Council over the past year. Our District and County
Councillors usually attend this meeting to report on their work.
Everyone is welcome to any Parish Council meeting, we would be
pleased to see you there.
BDC LOCAL PLAN AND VILLAGE OPEN SPACES
The Parish Council does not meet in December, but this does not mean
the work stops. We have been working on discussions with Braintree
District Council about the strip of land they own next to the Playing Field
at New Park. Several attempts have been made by the Parish Council
to take out a long-term lease on this piece of land so we can put a small
amount of play equipment there, but so far requests have been refused
by Braintree District Council.
Castle Hedingham was on the agenda for the BDC Local Plan Sub-
Committee meeting on 10th November. A webcast of the Castle
Hedingham discussions at the meeting can be found at
http://braintree.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/252024. At
this meeting a proposal was made to remove the “informal recreation”
