Create 3D views<br />

20 In the Project Browser, under Floor Plans, review the existing floor plans.<br />

21 In the Project Browser, under Floor Plans, right-click Level 1, and, in the shortcut menu, notice<br />

that you have the option to rename, duplicate, or delete this view.<br />

22 In the Project Browser, review the floor plans, ceiling plans, and elevations. Rename, duplicate,<br />

or delete them as needed.<br />

23 To add more levels to the template, on the Basics tab of the Design Bar, click Level.<br />

Make sure you are still in the South elevation view.<br />

24 On the Options Bar, select Make Plan View.<br />

25 Add the new level within the elevation view.<br />

The associated floor plan will use the Architectural Plan view template to set its initial view<br />

properties.<br />

26 Rename and reposition the level as needed.<br />

27 Create additional levels as needed.<br />

28 To add 3D views to the template, on the View toolbar, click (Default 3D View).<br />

29 In the Project Browser, expand 3D Views.<br />

30 In the Project Browser, under 3D Views, right-click {3D}, and click Rename.<br />

31 Rename the 3D View.<br />

If you want to modify view properties, in the Project Browser, right-click the view name, and<br />

click Properties.<br />

32 (Optional) To change the orientation of the 3D view, use the ViewCube.<br />

By default, the ViewCube displays in the upper right corner of the drawing area for 3D views.<br />

If it does not display, click Window menu ➤ ViewCube.<br />

You can change the view orientation in many ways:<br />

■ Click a corner, a face, or an edge of the ViewCube.<br />

■ To orient the 3D view to another view, right-click the ViewCube, click Orient to View, and<br />

select the desired view.<br />

■ To orient the 3D view to a direction, right-click the ViewCube, click Orient to a Direction,<br />

and select the desired direction.<br />

33 To save the re-oriented view, right-click the ViewCube, and click Save View. If prompted, enter<br />

a view name.<br />

The view is listed in the Project Browser under Views (all) ➤ 3D Views.<br />

Create and modify schedules<br />

34 On the View tab of the Design Bar, click Schedule/Quantities.<br />

You can add schedules to a template. You may want to consider adding the schedules that you<br />

use most often, and modify their properties accordingly. This can save significant time and<br />

ensure that office standards are maintained.<br />
