MOTHER
Aye Than May
Class IV - Roses
Through centuries and through
millenniums this word has always been a
very dear one. It amazes me how much
love and adoration can fit into such a tiny word. From the
moment we were born till the end, our mothers have stood by
our sides, to help us, to guide us, to shape us and to gradually
prepare us for the real world. Yes, we all hate it when our
mothers scold us for the most trivial
of things. Trust me, we all have those
issues, but what we often do not
realise is that these small mistakes
that we are making today may result
in a big loss in future. And when
we'll look back, we'll regret not
listening to our mothers.
Mothers are the finest piece of art
that God has crafted. Mothers are
unique, divine, significant and
understanding and have hearts of
gold. They spread their warmth and
generosity through the universe and
can touch the coldest of hearts. They
have strong principles and are strong
warriors. They have the whole world
on their shoulders and yet they make it seem like a pair of wings.
They don't see us as who we are, they see us as who we have the
potential to be. And they remember our beauty when we feel ugly,
our wholeness when we are broken, our innocence when we are
guilty and our purpose when we are confused.
If I could unite the tears, the laughter, the smiles, the frowns, the
anger, the sadness, the happiness, the serenity, the strength, the scars,
the blemishes, the secrets, the beauty spots, the magnificence and
the harmony that are etched deep inside my mother's soul, then she
would become the universe; simply breath taking.
Mothers do so much for us, but we seem to notice only the things
they didn't do. When my mom did not let me buy the T-shirt that
had Panic! At The Disco plastered at the
front or when she didn't let me eat ice cream
because I had a slight cough. I was so upset
and grumbled about how she did not love
me at all. But as I write this, the realization
dawns upon me and I know now that love
doesn't necessarily need to be seen, it needs
to be felt. I guess we're all still learning to
recognise the ways in which this creature
works.
So, let's set this aside for once and appreciate
our mothers and help them when they need
it, make them smile and laugh, show them
hope and light when there are upset and love
them unconditionally for as long as the
world allows, because if you don't I swear
you'll regret it.
