ANNUAL REPORT 2015-16
Khaja Arjani Ahamed
Class IX - Mars
The French Club, named 'Club Français
SFX' continued its creative activities is last
academic year from around the middle of
June, at the beginning of the summer
vacation. The club moderators, Ms Teresa
Kakon Corraya and Mr. Taufique Hossain, formally began its
activities that year by selecting the executive members that
would act as the limbs of the club. They were selected from class
VIII, the president being Auddithio Nag, the treasurer Anujit
Saha and the general secretaries Kazi Jawadul Islam and Shaolin
Ahmed from class VII. Other executive members, include
myself, were also selected to form a vital functioning body of the
group while selected French students from class IX were
allocated the posts of advisors. From there we began our
activities in that session of 2015-2016.
Club Français SFX started its first programme with a film show
which was a French movie named 'Le Petit Nicolas' that was
shown to the club members. Our honourable Principal, Sr
Virginia Asha Gomes, Sr Maria Gomes, Sr Gracie M. Gomes Sr.
Jacqueline Gomes and some other teachers enjoyed the show as
well. The duration of the film was almost two hours. At the
onset of the new academic year, we had primarily decided give
out the forms for bringing in more students in the club and
agreed to organized an activity every alternative Wednesday,
although there were certain plans we could not carry out. We
had held a French crossword competition for class IV to class
VII during the beginning of October 2015, which did turn out
to be our first success. Next we conducted a small reading
competition which was segmented in 2 different divisions, one
for the juniors below class VI, and the other for the seniors
below class VIII that went moderately well. That event
concluded our activities for that particular year at the beginning
of November as the exams were drawing near.
The executive team continued their activities in this club from
the first few weeks of the final semester of the last academic
year. It attempted to conduct a small calligraphic art
competition for classes IV and VII within the school campus. It
was decided to let the participants take their time to make their
artwork at home during the Easter holidays which we
implemented afterwards.
Our overall management of the club membership documents
and holding of activities were somewhat sloppy last year, as we
were not so efficient, but we do expect, with optimism, that the
next academic year shall go well with more efficiency and cooperation
of the moderators and support of the administration
as well as with more participation from the general members.
