HoW To GeT To THe eXcel cenTRe
The ExCeL centre can easily be reached by
underground – the tube – or by taxi from
the airports as well as from the city centre.
To get to the ExCeL centre from the city
centre by public transportation (e.g. from
Oxford Circus), take the Central Line to
Bank. Change to DLR and exit at Custom
House for ExCeL. The approximate travelling
time is 35 minutes. For any questions
regarding public transportation, please
contact the Oyster Card Counter in the
registration area in hall N1/2.
caR PaRk
There are 2,540 car parking spaces at Ex-
CeL London: The purple and orange car
parks are located in the undercroft and
the multi-storey car park at ExCeL London
West. Please note that parking spaces are
allocated on a "first-come, first-served" basis
and are only for vehicles of transit size
and below. Overnight sleeping within vehicles
is prohibited.
Car Parking Charges
Up to 2 hours: GBP 5.00
Up to 5 hours: GBP 10.00
Up to 15 hours: GBP 15.00
Up to 24 hours: GBP 20.00
Motorcycles park free of charge; coaches
pay a flat fee of GBP 20 per day. Transits up
to 3.5t will be charged a GBP 15 flat fee per
day. Lorry parking is GBP 30 per day.
ExCeL is operating on a Pay and Display
System in all areas except the multi-storey
car park, where tickets are issued via a barrier
system. There are car park payment
machines within the central Boulevard of
ExCeL London and within the car parks
themselves. The payment machines can
be used with credit card and cash.

InsURance/lIabIlITY
GASTRO 2009 UEGW/WCOG, London does
not accept any liability for damages and/
or losses of any kind which may be incurred
by the congress participants or by
any persons accompanying them, during
either the official activities or excursions.
Delegates participate in all tours/events at
their own risk. Participants are advised to
take out insurance against loss, accidents
or damage that could be incurred during
the congress.
RecoRDInG
Cameras, video cameras or audio recording
devices are not permitted in session
rooms. Any recording of sessions is strictly
forbidden.

Smoking is prohibited within the ExCeL
London venue!

A wide range of church services are available.
Please contact your hotel concierge
for specific locations and timings.
sHoPPInG
Shops and Department Stores are generally
open between 09:00 and 17:30/18:00
from Monday to Saturday. In Knightsbridge
(i.e. the Brompton Road area), some stores
are open until 19:00 on Wednesdays, and
in the West End (i.e. the Oxford Street area),
some shops are open until 19:00 on Thursdays.
General grocery stores often have
late opening up to 22:00 Monday to Saturday,
and 10:00–16:00 on Sunday. Many
petrol/gas stations are open 24 hours a
day and also sell groceries.
TIMe Zone
London is located in the UTC/GMT time
zone. Daylight Saving Time / DST started
on March 29, and ends on October 25,
2009. London is 5 hours ahead of EST /
Eastern Standard Time and 1 hour behind
CET / Central European Time.
