to mothers of preschoolers in Clinton. “It is our hope that you
will join us for a meeting. We think you will find a group of women
who want to encourage you in this season of life.”
The 2015-2016 Clinton MOPS Leadership Team consists
of Kelly Robinson (Coordinator), Tanika Roberson (Creative
Activities), Hope Vandersteen (Table Leader), Angela Plunkett
(Table Leader), Maritza Cook (Special Touches), Elizabeth
Bennett (Publicity) and Melissa Baugh (Mentor Mom). The ladies
on the leadership team are from a variety of places including
Wisconsin, Wyoming, California, Alabama and Mississippi. They
have a plethora of talents and various experiences to lead the
Clinton MOPS.
Hope Vandersteen is a mother of three and is from Clinton,
Mississippi. “I joined MOPS to have a network of encouragement,
connect with other moms, see how they are handling life and get
support,” said Vandersteen. “I wanted to serve on the leadership
team to be able to encourage other moms, lift them up, pray for
them and let them know that they are not alone. We are all in
this together! I am excited about this year and all the things I’m
going to learn. When you bring all the moms together there is
a wealth of knowledge and information that we can share and
benefit from.”
MOPS will meet at Celebrate Church the second and fourth
Tuesdays of every month starting in September and ending in
May. The launch meeting will be Tuesday, September 8, 2015,
from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Celebrate Church is located at 2001 Old
Vicksburg Road in Clinton. “We will bring in speakers often t
hat can talk to us about issues that we are facing. There will
be encouragement, refreshments, arts & crafts and childcare,”
said Robinson.
When a mom comes to MOPS, her first meeting is always
free and after that, she can register for the year. A MOPS membership
for a year is $75 which includes: a subscription to Hello
Dearest quarterly magazine, a welcome package with various
goodies, an encouraging email every Tuesday, childcare during
the meetings and more. “Along with the fun perks of being a
registered member, you are part of a movement that is changing
the world for generations,” according to mops.org.

If you are not a mother of a preschooler, but have a heart for
young moms, babies and toddlers, then there are some perfect
opportunities for you. Clinton MOPS has a need for another
Mentor Mom and for workers in childcare. The Mentor Mom is a
mom who is more seasoned in life and has already been through
the journey of raising preschoolers. She nurtures and encourages
members of the MOPS group. She teaches by example,
encourages, counsels and shares with moms. This is a ministry
opportunity that is very rewarding. Also, there is a need for
caring, responsible women to work in the nursery. Meetings last
for two hours and are twice a month. If you have any questions
