Already we can sense the concern “in Christ”<br />

which the Holy Spirit imparts <strong>to</strong> the church, so that<br />

we can share the guilt of a fellow-sinner who is our<br />

contemporary; it is only another step <strong>to</strong> share the<br />

guilt of one who is not contemporary. Thus a<br />

repentance becomes possible for the sins of<br />

previous generations, and Moses’ command is<br />

found possible of obedience (Leviticus 26:40).<br />

Thus the “final a<strong>to</strong>nement” becomes a reality, and<br />

the pre-Advent judgment concluded.<br />

The perfect “one body” experience will fill the<br />

church. While it is true that there will be a<br />

“shaking,” and some, perhaps many, will be shaken<br />

out, the inspired word that describes this process of<br />

separation clearly implies that a true remnant of<br />

believers in Christ will remain. The “shaking” of<br />

the tree or branches will certainly mean that<br />

“gleaning grapes shall be left in it” (cf. Isaiah 17:6;<br />

24:13). Those who are “ “ “shall lift up their voice,<br />

they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord” (verse<br />

14). Those who are shaken out will only make<br />
