Step 1 Sew together 4 bear paw blocks; press. At this point block
should measure 12-1/2-inches square. Make 3 blocks. Sew blocks

Step 1 Trim backing and batting so they
are 8-inches larger than runner top.
Step 2 Layer backing, batting, and
runner top. Baste 3 layers together.
Quilt as desired.
Binding
Cutting
From BLUE PRINT:
• Cut 4, 2-1/2 x 42-inch strips.
Diagonally piece strips together.
Fold strip in half lengthwise; press.
Sew binding to runner using a 3/8-inch
seam allowance.
Step 2 With right sides together, layer 2-7/8 x 42-inch BLUE and
CREAM strips. Press together, but do not sew. Cut layered strips into
squares. Cut layered squares in half diagonally to make 12 sets of
triangles. Stitch 1/4-inch from diagonal edge of each triangle set;
press.
Crosscut 6, 2-7/8-inch squares Make 12,
2-1/2-inch

Step 3 Referring to diagram sew together 6 triangle-squares; press.
Make 2 borders. Sew sawtooth borders to top/bottom edges of runner
center; press.
Step 4 Sew 4-1/2 x 12-1/2-inch CREAM top/bottom outer border strips
to runner center; press. Sew 2-1/2 x 52-1/2-inch CREAM side outer
border strips to runner center; press.
