RK International Machine Tools has
announced changes to its management team,
with Simon Rood stepping up to the position
of Director and General Manager, following
the decision by Sales Director Dick Aldrich to
reduce his work commitments.
“Dick has been a major part of the team at
RK International Machine Tools Limited and
has greatly contributed to its growth over the
years. Following his request to reduce his
work commitments and responsibilities
effective from March 2018, this is a perfect
time to enhance Simon’s role within the
business. Dick will remain very active within
the business as a director, and the company’s
new structure will also allow Dick to focus on
expanding RK International’s grinding
product portfolio, prior to taking retirement
in 2020,” says John Schwarz, Managing

As a best-selling cutter in the portfolio of
aluminium machining end mills from
Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC), the
3081 Cyber Series has now been extended
with a variety of corner radii. The
development engineers at ITC have worked
closely with end users to further enhance this
already exceptional line of solid carbide line
of end mills.
Until now, the three fluted centre cutting
3081 Series from ITC was available in
diameters from 3 to 20mm with an optimised
cut length from 12 to 40mm. The enhanced
tool geometry and cut length combines with
polished high-helix flutes to demonstrate
impressive material removal rates, chip
evacuation and tool life. For customers that
wanted to extend tool life further, the 3081
Series also has the option of a DLC coating
for more abrasive applications.
Now, the Tamworth manufacturer has
extended the range by adding a series of
corner radii to each diameter increment. The
market leading series is available in
diameters of 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20mm.
Whilst the new additions retain the same
diameter range; the series has been more
than quadrupled in size to accommodate at
least four corner radii for each tool diameter.
Tool diameters from 3 to 5mm are now
offered with a 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1mm radius.
Tool diameters from 6mm and above also
incorporate these radius increments whilst
extending the radius options with 0.25 and
0.5mm increments up to a
maximum radius of 5mm
on the 200mm diameter
end mill.
