The annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for April 15. Youth Baseball and Softball begin their seasons in April under management by our City’s Parks and Recreation Department. Outdoor Summer Concerts & Movies return to City Hall Park this summer starting on May 20th. Look for many more new activities, including cricket, this summer and fall. We are very pleased to welcome the St. Charles Community College School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences to Dardenne Prairie. Purchase of the Dardenne Prairie Campus, at One Academy Place from Lindenwood University was finalized in February. SCC will be expanding their health sciences program and other valuable skill training programs at the Dardenne Prairie Campus. The Board of Aldermen approved plans to build a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Dardenne Prairie at the NW corner of Bryan and Feise Roads. Walmart agreed to meet specific architectural standards required by the City to improve the exterior appearance of the Market. Construction is expected to begin in November. We continue to make improvements to our streets and sidewalks. The City plans to spend over $900,000 in street and sidewalk maintenance, repairs and new construction in 2017. David Zucker Picking Up After Your Pet GRASS and WEEDS When it rains, storm water washes pet waste and other pollutants into storm drains. Storm drains flow directly into ponds, streams and rivers. Excess nitrogen in pet waste contributes to the depletion of oxygen in our local water bodies, which is necessary for healthy underwater grasses, fish and other wildlife. Roundworms and hookworms, deposited by infected animals, can live in the soil for a long time and be transmitted to other animals and humans. Picking up after your pet also reduces chances of the transmission of these parasites. Picking up after your pet will help prevent a serious health threat to the natural habitat of our ponds, streams and rivers affecting our quality of life. Please help keep our ponds, streams and rivers clean by picking up after your pet on walks and in your yard. Spring is just around the corner and this is a reminder to keep grass, vegetation, and weeds no higher than 6 inches. The City Code Enforcement Officer is authorized to write tickets for those property owners or tenants who fail to keep their property mowed. (Dardenne Prairie Municipal Code Section 215.120 (A)). It’s All About Spring It’s time to kick off spring with the Dardenne Prairie Parks and Recreation’s annual Annual Easter Egg Hunt Price: FREE • Dates: April 15 (Saturday) Ages: 0-8 • Gender: Both • (Pre-registration is not required) Egg Hunts will be divided by age and begin at 10 a.m. with the 0-2 and 3-4 age groups. Ages 5-6 and 7-8 will follow shortly after the previous hunt ends. Find a special egg and win a prize. The Easter Bunny will be visiting, so bring your camera. Event takes place at Dardenne Prairie City Hall. Tree seedlings will also be given away for the Arbor Day Celebration. Try coming out to the Dardenne Prairie Outdoor Summer Concert & Movie Series! These free outdoor concerts and movies provide a great way to enjoy the summer with family and friends. The series features an exciting line up of bands and movies and takes place on the 3rd Saturday of each month starting in

Bad sportsmanship will not be tolerated. League games will be played on Friday evenings. Teams must have a minimum of 4 females on the field during play. No individual registration is taken for league play. Adult Wiffleball Tournament Price Team: $50 • Dates: June 9 (Friday) • Ages: 16+ • Gender: Co-Rec Gather four friends and get ready for some All American fun. Wiffleball is a variation of baseball, played using a perforated, light-weight plastic ball and bat. The double elimination recreational tournament is an activity everyone can enjoy. Adult Co-Rec Kickball League Price Team: $230 • Dates: Aug. 2-Sep. 13 (Wednesday) • Ages: 16+ • Gender: Co-Rec Take a break from the work week and feel like a kid again. Adult Kickball is a great opportunity to have fun and get some exercise in a relaxed social sports setting. Gather your friends, families, coworkers and join as a team or group. Senior Events & Trips Ages: 50+ The Parks and Recreation Department hold senior lunch every 3rd Friday of the month at City Hall. Doors open at 11:00 a.m with lunch served at 11:30 a.m ($4 residents - $5 non-residents). Games include: bingo, bunco, spades, and live music. Trips are also provided for your enjoyment. Each class consists of FUN interactive games, with the use of many different props. Day Camp: 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m • Night Camp: 6:30 p.m-7:30 p.m CORE Soccer Training Price: $65 • Dates: April 23 - May 14 (Sundays) • Ages: 6-12 • Gender: Both This is a four week, one hour per day program. The CORE Ball Skills Program is centered on the ‘5 CORE Technical Skills’: (Ball Mastery, Passing-Receiving, Defending and Finishing) Full participation each week is required to fully benefit from this class. Each child will work one on one with their parent or guardian in performing various drills including throwing, catching and kicking, as well as offensive and defense drills.
