A more in-depth SAR study based on analogue 2.2 was completed to overcome these
unwanted effects. The majority of these new analogues proved to be active in the SHIP1
assay. Compound 2.3 (Figure 2.5), prepared by Matt Nodwell in the Andersen lab, lacked the
labile catechol functionality and had enhanced potency relative to pelorol (2.1).
