Congratulatory Message
Cathay Pacific has been a proud Hong Kong-based airline for over 70 years, and we care
deeply about the communities we operate in. As one of Hong Kong’s biggest employers, we
currently employ over 18,000 here in our home base. Over the decades, Cathay’s destiny has
been largely linked with that of Hong Kong, so it makes sense that we would feel a sense of
responsibility for the sustainable health of our home. Hong Kong Polytechnic clearly shares
this same passion, and we have been pleased to partner with you over the years in investing
in the next generation of talent.
Cathay Engineering plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and reliable airline operation,
and our professional team of engineers make this happen day in and day out. This team
includes many Polytechnic graduates, and they benefit from the important foundation laid
down from their time in university. Cathay’s Graduate Engineer program offers a wealth
of experience and hands-on learning, but this only works if they join us with an existing
understanding of basic engineering principles. I’m happy to say that Polytechnic has done
a great job of preparing young talent for this challenge, and we look forward to many more
years of partnership!
