Looking Forward<br />
ME is poised to enhance its level of teaching and learning, research and services to a new<br />
height. In teaching and learning, ME is establishing partnerships with overseas universities<br />
and industries to increase its international student exchange and international student<br />
projects; ME starts to merge full-time BEng (Hons) ME and PAED programmes into one scheme<br />
in 2017/18 with common studies in the first three semesters, then students will have free choice<br />
in studying either ME or PAED degree; ME is revamping PAED programme to implement<br />
project-based learning with more international/industrial elements and entrepreneurship.<br />
In research and services, ME continues to strengthen its leading role in five areas: sound<br />
and vibration, combustion and pollution control, aerospace engineering, fluid-structure<br />
interactions, and integrated product development. In addition, areas such as clean energy and<br />
energy storage, structural health monitoring and robotics are rapidly developing. With the<br />
strong support from all ME stakeholders, together we will achieve excellence in education and<br />
research with global out-reach and impact.<br />
