Congratulatory Message<br />
As a professional mechanical engineer, I am privileged to be associated with The<br />
Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University<br />
(HKPolyU) as a Past Chairman of its Advisory Committee for a few terms spanning the<br />
last 20 years.<br />
I have witnessed the phenomenal growth of the ME Department, from a traditional<br />
mechanical and marine engineering focus, to multi-facetted disciplines including<br />
aeronautical, automotive, energy, product analysis, sound and vibration and other<br />
management subjects.<br />
With a strong faculty, the students have benefitted from their expert knowledge and<br />
profound research experience to become useful engineers and managers in the industry,<br />
with great potential to become future leaders of organizations.<br />
The ME Department should be justifiably proud of its high achievements and I look<br />
forward to seeing continued growth and success as a bedrock for education for outstanding<br />
mechanical engineers in the region, scaling new heights in the next 80 years and beyond.<br />
