The College has organized a functioning academic structure that actively<br />

coordinates the policies and programs of the institution.<br />

It has expanded its academic programs beyond the classroom into certificate<br />

courses.<br />

It plans to offer add-on diploma courses in the near future.<br />

It has enhanced its outreach programs to include many more community-based<br />

activities.<br />

Bridge courses/remedial programs are held regularly to enable students from the<br />

marginalized sections.<br />

Yes, the College has a Perspective Plan for development which is dynamic and<br />

evolves with time.<br />

*Teaching & Learning–<br />

The College plans to transform itself from a teaching centre into a learning centre<br />

where research becomes the focal point around which quality learning will emerge.<br />

It also looks towards becoming a leader in providing quality and inclusive<br />

education focusing on developing the latest and most relevant courses with<br />

appropriate use of technology, while maintaining a firm commitment to the Vision<br />

and Mission of the College in creating men and women for others.<br />

It has started the process of applying for the status of a University so as to obtain<br />

greater autonomy to fully realize its potential.<br />

*Research & Development –<br />

The College has a stated research policy.<br />

It seeks to encourage research among its newly recruited teachers so that they may<br />

be integrated into the already existing research culture.<br />

A few more departments have applied to become research centres with the aim to<br />

increase the quantum of research.<br />

The research committee plans to offer a ‗sabbatical‘ for teachers to pursue<br />

research.<br />

The research corpus which has been granted by the management is utilized to<br />

allocate seed money for research-worthy proposals submitted by young<br />

researchers.<br />

Teachers are encouraged to engage in research by way of concessions such as<br />

reduction in teaching hours, and exemption from invigilation and other routine<br />

functions.<br />

The new recruitment/promotion policy document specifies a number of incentives<br />

for teachers involved in quality research.<br />
