Prize 2016 for his effective policy-led and<br />
campaigning work in areas such as poverty<br />
relief, third-world debt reduction, the fight<br />
against AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis as<br />
well as autism research and treatment.<br />

Martin Davis (1962, Law) has written about a three-week walk on<br />
the Voie de Vézelay in September this year, and since published the<br />
illustrated paperback, Notes in the Slow Lane on Amazon.com – also<br />
available as an eBook via Blurb.co.uk.<br />
Dr David Vaughan (1968, Geology), Research<br />
Professor of Mineralogy at the University of<br />
Manchester, has achieved the rare distinction<br />
of being elected a Foreign Fellow of the Royal<br />
Society of Canada, that country’s national<br />
academy. David is the leading international<br />
authority on metal sulphide minerals, key<br />
materials for the Canadian economy and<br />
natural environment, and has played a major<br />
role in establishing the field of molecular<br />
environmental science which integrates research<br />
on the mineralogical, geochemical and biological<br />
systems of the Earth’s surface at the molecular<br />
scale. Dr Vaughan was a research student at<br />
Univ and the first non-American President of<br />
the American Mineralogical Society.<br />
