Beginning in April, Frankfort’s annual spring/summer event season kicks into full speed and continues through September – and beyond. Held in downtown Frankfort, events such as the Frankfort Country Market, Cruisin’ Frankfort, Fine Arts Fair, Fishing Derby, Concerts on the Green, Bluegrass Fest and the Amateur Rib Cook Off, offer something for everyone to enjoy. All are encouraged to download Frankfort’s mobile app, which is made available through the Apple store for IOS products or Google Play for Android products. Through this app, people can access the calendar of events and add them to a calendar. Another option is to sign up to receive free event updates. This service can be done by visiting www. villageoffrankfort.com and under the calendar on the home page, click “Receive Email Updates.” A calendar of events will be distributed to users on the first day of every month. It’s that easy, and users won’t miss any of the funfilled events in Frankfort! Camp offers prehistoric and tropical locations The Curtain Call Theatre Emily Mc- Cabe Summer Theatre Program offers two exciting and very different productions this summer, allowing campers to either take a trip back in time, or to have a tropical island experience. The four-week program is offered to students currently in grades K-8. The Junior section (grades K-3) will perform the musical Dinostars, a fun romp through prehistoric times featuring Raptors who rap, stand-up comedians, and even Tyrannosaurus Tex and his gang of line-dancing dinosaurs. The senior section (grades 4-8) will perform the musical Once on This Island. It’s catchy Caribbean-flavored score is a highly original theatrical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s popular fairy for children tale, “The Little Mermaid.” The Emily McCabe camp enters its 15th season this summer. Each summer the camp involves and educates about 170 children to the wonderful world of musical theatre. Camp producer and Emily’s mother, Meg McCabe, illustrates the joy and enthusiasm the camp brings even after all these years. “Our program is a great opportunity for children in grade K-8 to experience being part of a musical production,” Meg said. “We take them from auditions to their final bow and they have a great time throughout the entire process.
