Happy Anniversary
Weidman 67th Wedding Anniversary
Herbert and Lorraine Weidman celebrated their 67th wedding
anniversary on April
29th at the Chandler
Estate with family and
friends.
The happy couple
have been residents of
Wind Gap for
the past 60 years and
attribute their long
term success to
compassion,
understanding, and a
lot of love.

Birth Announcement
LEAH EMERSON UNDERWOOD
Peter and Kyrstin Underwood are happy to
announce the birth of their second daughter,
Leah Emerson. Born on September 11, 2016, at
Lehigh Valley-Pocono Hospital. Leah weighed
6 pounds 11 ounces and measured 191/4
inches long at birth. She is surrounded by
unmeasurable amounts of love by her parents,
sister Olivia, and relatives which include
great-grandparents Jim and Jean White, and Jean and Rich Martini,
and Maternal grandparents Robert and Lisa Wisniewski and Paternal
grandparents John and Beth Underwood.
Christ Lutheran Church Spring Service Project
On Sunday, May 7th, the youth group, and parents from Christ
Lutheran Church, along with a few other volunteers completed their first
spring service project. After reaching out to the Slate Belt community
the group was able to locate fourteen families in need of assistance with
yard clean-up and yard work for different reasons this spring. Although
the weather was not very cooperative the
group was still able to complete the project.
They raked leaves, cleaned up yards, and
were able to plant flowers to the delight of
the recipients. Jennifer Smoke coordinator of
the event said " Not all of the recipients were
elderly, but they sure do hold a special place
in our hearts. There are so many older people

who had taken such pride in their yards for
so many years and are just physically unable
to do the work anymore, but they still have
to look at their properties. We do a lot of fun projects with our youth,
but we felt it was really important to have
them go out and serve others for this one.
Not one person complained in the rain, we
made it fun and we know that everyone
learned a lot from each other. We hope to
make this an annual thing and to be able
to help even more people next year! We
would encourage anyone to start a spring
service project of their own! Although it was
hard work it was very rewarding and we
were the ones that were really blessed."
