Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity Unveils
Community Mural
A mural titled, “A Place Where Community Comes Together” was
unveiled this spring at the Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity.
The mural was made possible through the generosity of the Friends of
the Nazareth Library, in memory of Gerti Sauerzopf.
Local artist, Karryssa Schmidt, drew and hand painted the artwork
incorporating popular children’s literary characters and buildings from
the library’s four supporting municipalities: Lower Nazareth, Upper
Nazareth, Bushkill Township, and Nazareth Borough. Holly Bennett,
Library’s Executive Director says, “Community is everything. This mural
reminds of all the opportunity and fun that literature can provide to
children. It also reminds us of how appreciative the community is of our
four supporting
municipalities
and their
commitment
to offering
free programs,
services, and
materials to those
who live in our
community.”

How well we fought the battle to the end,
Where freedom was born so free again,
Nothing comes from nothing sought,
As oppression flourishes so time we got.
We go to battle with all our might
And honor the creed of the sacrificial rite.
For what I died for is for a greater cause,
Martyred for the future and what befalls.
For freedom comes at a price to pay,
For how we fought from this very day.
Wind Gap Summer Sounds Concerts
The Wind Gap Summer Sounds Concert series will kick off in June.
Concerts are held rain or shine and begin at 6:00 pm. The Summer
