Playing The Hallowed Turf<br />

Simon Trevillion, a volunteer in Iceni Patisserie at<br />

<strong>Swaffham</strong> Community Centre lived the dream on<br />

May 11th when he stepped onto the hallowed turf of<br />

Norwich City’s Carrow Road football pitch lining up<br />

alongside ex-professional footballers Adrian Forbes,<br />

Adam Drury and Ryan Jarvis to take on City legend<br />

Grant Holt and his team.<br />

The match was part of the ‘Street Life Soccer’ initiative<br />

organised by the Norwich City F.C. ‘Community<br />

Sports Foundation’ which promotes weekly football<br />

sessions and learning opportunities for homeless,<br />

ex-offenders, vulnerable adults, vulnerably housed<br />

and the unemployed.<br />

Hog Roast In Aid Of Autism Charity<br />

Helping to raise funds for the National Autistic Society<br />

West Norfolk, Market Cross is holding a Hog Roast in<br />

aid of local young man Cole who goes to a dedicated<br />

school and is assisted by the society in many vital ways.<br />

NAS West Norfolk take him swimming and to other<br />

activities which he loves, also giving his family a bit of<br />

respite time. Come along on the 9th June, tickets are<br />

£10 including a dessert and are available from Market<br />

Cross and Just Hair – all profits to the charity. Contact<br />

Competition Congratulations<br />

The winners of the Easter Bunny hunt were Daniel<br />

Simpson, Bethany Halls and Matilda Rose Simpson;<br />

the runners up were Polly Pickard, Martha Creed,<br />

Keira Drake, Alice SImpson, Isobel Clifton and Olivia<br />

Clifton. Well done and thank you to the huge amount<br />

of you who joined in.<br />

Well done to Nicole DaRosa from <strong>Swaffham</strong> Junior<br />

Academy and Eliza McRann from Sacred Heart<br />

School who the judges in the Town Team’s litter<br />

poster competition thought interpretted the brief<br />

with thought and artistic talent.<br />

Skydive<br />

On the 7th May I carried out a skydive in Beccles<br />

in aid of ‘Tapping House’, the Norfolk Hospice (see<br />

photo). I would like to say a very big thank you to<br />

everyone who generously sponsored me and helped<br />

to raise in excess of £500 towards the excellent work<br />

the hospice carries out.
