May 24, 2017 WEST NEWSMAGAZINE 2017 K9s in Flight return Pretty Baby contest enters 37th year I 41 BALLWIN DAYS K9s in Flight, the premiere canine sports show, is back in action at Ballwin Days 2017 featuring a lineup of all rescue dogs. The world-class show features exciting diving tricks and acrobatic flying disc routines set to music. Watch dogs jump as far as 25 feet off a dock into a 15,000-gallon swimming pool to catch a toy, or jump as high as 10 feet in the air, to catch a thrown disc. K9s in Flight’s motto is “Adopt a dog, save a life!” Ballwin Days 2017 marks the 37th anniversary of the festival’s Pretty Baby Contest, an event where area babies have helped raise over $75,000 for SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center over the years. Help make this a recordbreaking year for Babies Helping Kids! Since the first contest in 1981, over 2,000 babies have been entered for Pretty Baby honors. A photo of each contestant will be on display in the Pretty Baby tent where family, friends and festival-goers can cast their monetary votes. Each cent donated counts as one vote, and special prizes are awarded to the four babies with the most votes at the final ceremony on June 11. Cash or check donations are accepted. All proceeds go to Cardinal Glennon. For details and entry instructions, visit www.ballwindays.com or email PrettyBaby@BallwinDays.com. The contest is open to all children age 3 years and under. Photo entries must be received by June 3. www.facebook.com/BallwinDays OPEN MEMORIAL DAY 12-5PM “AWARD Winning BBQ” Order Ahead For Easy Pick-Up 15467 Clayton Rd.
