PREMIER AWARDS 2017 FIRE SAFETY PRODUCT OF THE YEAR 2017 BT Redcare – Secure Fire IP Redcare Secure Fire IP protects customers with a grade 4 or 3 dual path alarm signalling using BT's Redcare network. The dual path system ensures that, if one path fails, there is another signalling path allowing any critical alarm messages to reach the ARC. The alarm signalling paths are provided by wireless mobile phone technology and a phone line or broadband (IP connection) to deliver the alarm signal. Tyco – FTR-1 Deluge Nozzle The FTR-1 Fixed Temperature Release system is a fixed temperature, heat detector intended for wet or dry pilot release service. It can be used for pilot-line service, instead of standard sprinklers, to activate deluge and pre-action systems equipped with either wet or dry pilot-line detection. The FTR-1 features a fast response thermal element and a corrosionresistant assembly option for outdoor applications. Inim – Praesidia Praesidia is a modular control panel for fire detection and extinguishment systems. Praesidia offers a system that is suitable for all types of applications, from small business premises to very large ones such airports, hotels and shopping malls. Its modular structure allows the configuration of each control panel from a single cabinet to several cabinets (up to four) assembled together. Xtralis – Vesda-E VEA Vesda-E VEA is an addressable aspirating smoke detector. The VEA sampling points have patented air sampling points and multi-channel microbore air-sampling with three alarm sensitivity settings for the sampling points. As a multi-channel addressable system, the VEA detector is able to divide a protected space into sampling locations, enabling the localisation of potential sources of fire for faster incident response. STI EMEA – Euro Stopper The Euro Stopper prevents malicious or accidental activation and consists of a clear, tamper proof, tough UV-stabilised polycarbonate cover and frame that retrofits over the break glass call point. The Glow Guide, a material that is embedded in the perimeter of the frame, illuminates in the dark creating a radiant glow around the manual call point making it easier to locate in dark areas. Klaxon – EN54-23 beacons and sounders Klaxon Signals' range of EN54-23 approved fire beacons and sounder beacons ensure that all personnel are notified of fire emergencies, including people with sensory impairments or working in sensory depriving conditions. With a new range of wide-area illumination and audible signalling devices, buildings are evacuated quicker, evacuation requirements are clear and unambiguous and everyone is made to feel safer. Apollo – Auto-aligning beam detector The device for detecting smoke in large open areas such as warehouses, churches and sports centres comprises of a ground level loop-powered controller and detector head with an operating range of 8m- 50m with a receiver and an alignment motor in the same housing for simple installation; an optional additional detector head can be connected to the controller. Hochiki Europe – FIREscape lite FIREscape lite is a mains-powered, emergency lighting solution. Available as a range of twelve prepacked, off-the-shelf kits, FIREscape lite features a ‘step-down’ transformer, enabling the products to be mains powered, along with either four types of luminaire or eight types of exit sign. The installation process is reduced significantly as the standalone lighting units can be placed anywhere within a building, as long as there is a mains lighting supply. C-Tec – CAST Conceived, designed and realised by C-TEC, CAST is a 'distributed intelligence' fire alarm system. The system comprises multiple EN54 certified control panels, fire detectors, call points, sounders, VADs and interface modules. With 255 devices per loop, a short-circuit loop isolator in every device, multiple type codes, 40V loop voltage and two speedy programming options, the flexibility of the system make it suitable for a range of applications. Gent by Honeywell – VigInSite VigInSite is a software based tool that can be used to quickly identify the age of the various components of a fire detection system. VigInSite helps ensure that safety levels are maximised, while allowing end users to actively schedule and budget for maintenance activities. The system formulates an inventory and uses a traffic light system to provide an instant visual guide as to what action should be taken.
