After the drum has been struck three<br />

times, the Master of Ceremony will<br />

call “sòng shén” (“Sendoff the ancestral<br />

spirits”), and the Lead Musician<br />

follows with “yuè zòu xián hé zhī qǔ”<br />

(“Play a harmonious tune”). When<br />

the drum and the bell are each struck<br />

once, the orchestra starts playing.<br />

The Master of Ceremony calls “quán<br />

tǐ sù lì” (“Please be upstanding”). As<br />

the fan and the parasol pass by the<br />

Principal, the Master of Ceremony<br />
