Encampment
(laughter and chatter)
Past Commander-in-Chief, Donald E. Darby
Yeah. So, so any way, you, you know, you can put those,
the form that, that, that Danny just held up and, and those
membership forms …
National Quartermaster, Danny L. Wheeler
I didn‘t hold that up.
Past Commander-in-Chief, Donald E. Darby
… in the, you know, the double secret probation area. And to
put the rest of the forms of, you know, the tri-folds that we
have, put ‗em out where everybody else can get ‗em. One, it‘s
saving you money in shipping. It‘s saving you in time. If you
need one, you‘re not sitting there waiting for, and God knows
Danny gets it to you quick. I‘m not giving you that. But, he‘s
not going to do it as quick as I can hit enter, print. Okay.
So I think putting those day-to-day forms that, the tri-folds,
we‘re going to save ourselves a lot of money. We‘re going to
save ourselves a lot of time. And a lot of aggravation. That‘s
my two cents.
Leo F. Kennedy, Commander-in-Chief
Thank you. Steve?
Steve Hammond, Department of Maryland
Steve Hammond …
Leo F. Kennedy, Commander-in-Chief
Steve then Danny, okay?
Maryland. (chatter)
But one of the, one of the statements that Brother Mark
brought up about, yes, people are falsifying membership in the
U. S. Military service and those sort of things. They get a
benefit from that. I have yet to find out any sort of benefit
or any sort of money or any sort of retirement I get from my
membership in the SUV. And I will be very honest with you, I
can tell you there are a damn big number of GAR members out
there who fought in every battle in the Civil War and were
wounded at every one and never even saw a service. I think we
should be putting these certificates out there that we can use.
We‘re just aren‘t that big of a draw for fraud. I honestly
believe that. Thank you.
